Lauren Du Graf is an award-winning writer, producer, and scholar of film, philosophy, and literature. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Oxford American Magazine, and elsewhere. She received a Grammy nomination and a Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson award from the ASCAP Foundation for her liner notes accompanying the release of Alice Coltrane: The Carnegie Hall Concert. She received her doctorate in English and Comparative Literature from UNC Chapel Hill, where she belonged to the Royster Society of Fellows. Originally from Seattle, Washington, she is a proud product of public schools, from kindergarten to PhD.
